CAMP FACILITIES: We have multiple state-of-the-art dormitories, outdoor pool, all air conditioned facilities, recreation/dining hall, amphitheater, movie theater, and can accommodate all special meal needs (gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, etc.).

These tracks are campers' concentration for each session. All instruction takes place in small group lessons and is led by experienced and enthusiastic female musicians, producers, artists, and teachers.

MEALS
Food, glorious food! All meals are delicious and included. Breakfast is typically served between 7:00–8:00 am; lunch is around 12:00 pm; and dinner is usually around 6:00 pm. This is subject to change, so please keep your ears perked throughout the day for announcements to make sure you don’t miss a meal. We offer both vegan and omnivore options and healthy snacks are available throughout the day.

SPECIAL GUEST ARTIST PERFORMANCES
Every session, a different band plays a live set for the girls and then sticks around for an intimate Q&A. In our end of program survey this was a major highlight for the girls. They learned about different genres of music and had a fun time listening to the bands and getting to engage in meaningful discussions with the visiting artists.

FINAL SHOWCASE
At the end of the session, all campers show off their original work at the Final Showcase for the whole camp community!

THE FACILITY
Amplify Sleep Away Camp is very proudly in residence at Besant Hill School. Set in the mountains of Ojai, California, this amazing facility boasts one of the best views in Ventura County. Campers have private, air-conditioned residence halls, a private pool, a movie theatre for evening films, and delicious meals provided (dietary restrictions honored).

Every week we also venture out on incredible day trips, like our local beaches for surfing or camp outs, and more! We also hold super fun camp-wide community events, like Friday night dance parties, pool parties, and of course our big end-of-camp showcase!

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Small class sizes ensure the best dance education. Every student is valued and instructed by a warm and friendly staff in a variety of dance forms, including ballet, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, and tap.

OTHER CAMP INFO: Hudson Dance Academy provides the best dance instruction for ages 2.5 to adult and for all skill levels, focusing on technique and artistry in a family-friendly environment. Classes offered include jazz, ballet, tap, hip hop, and contemporary.

The summer intensive gives students a more focused time to learn a variety of dance forms, including hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, ballet, jumps and turns, and jazz. There will be a lot of learning...but also a lot of fun, too!

CAMP FACILITIES: Campers live in cabins (wooden buildings with canvas window and door coverings). Up to 10 campers and 2 or 3 staff members live together. Bathrooms with flush toilets and hot showers are located nearby. Meals are served buffet style. We eat outside in the dining area. Food is excellent with fresh fruit, salad bar and hot entrees at each meal. Vegetarian and vegan meals are also available. Special diets can be accommodated with conversations ahead of time.

CAMP FACILITIES: Shawl-Anderson Dance Center has four studios in a converted Berkeley Craftsman house. The center has been a vibrant part of the Berkeley community for over 50 years, teaching non-competitive dance to all ages and levels.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: This immersion is for students who have just completed grades 8-12 with at least two consistent years of modern dance training. The focus to immerse intermediate and advanced students in a rigorous week of training designed to enhance and support their technical proficiency in modern dance. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: This program is for students who have completed grades 8-12 with a minimum of one year of modern dance training. This two-week intensive will support dancer's technical growth and focus on the creative and expressive aspects of modern dance composition and performance. Students will spend these two weeks exploring in modern technique, repertory, dance composition, improvisation, and special topics including partnering, yoga, and more. Enrollment is limited to 20 students to best provide individualized attention. Students will be divided into two levels for modern technique based on a placement class held the first day. There will be a final presentation of the material learned in all classes on Friday, August 7th from 4-5pm at Shawl-Anderson Dance Center. Our professional staff encourages creativity and delivers quality performing arts training for both the beginner and the experienced performer. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: LVCC MUSICAL THEATRE WORKSHOP was born of a passion for helping children discover confidence and learn life skills in the process of creating Musical Theatre. We know that many valuable life skills can be developed in the process of creating ART, especially when the creation process takes place with collaboration.

LVCCMTW is a place where the individual is nurtured, cared about and supported. We believe in positivity and unique expression. We have a "zero-tolerance" policy on negativity. This camp is a place where loving, encouraging, creativity takes place and character building elements are valued and taught. Each group spends the week from 9-3 each day attending sessions in ACTING, DANCE, MUSIC, STAGECRAFT and THEATRE ARTS,creating a unique, original Musical Theatre Production for performance at the Friday Night Showcase.

Each age group is joined by trained, experienced, caring counselors who accompany them throughout their day. We believe in personal attention to each camper, therefore we keep our camper to counselor ratio very small. In our preschool 1/2 day program, our ratio is 3 campers to one counselor. This ratio increases only slightly with each age group. Our maximum ratio is in the 9th-10th grade Leadership Training program, where the ratio is only 6:1. We believe that adhering strictly to this ratio allows each camper maximum support for their individual creative expression and gives our staff an opportunity to relate to every camper individually.

Our caring instructors are skilled, educated, and experienced in their craft and have a passion for helping kids discover their skills, talents and self confidence in each of the respective elements of Musical Theatre creation.

Stagecraft: Campers will make (or assist in making) their own sets, props and costumes, using age-level based artistic expression, creative and technical skills.

Dance: Campers will be taught a dance and will learn dance terms and basic dance moves. They will learn or improve their ability to be comfortable with dance and with moving their bodies.

Acting: campers will learn and rehearse their scene for the showcase. As age/ability increases, campers also participate in writing their own lines, some of the scene, or the whole scene.

Music: campers learn the song for their performance. They will focus on basic musical terms and concepts. As age/ability increases, campers participate in solo and small group singing, understanding and performing harmony and lyric writing/music composition skills.

Theatre Arts: Campers gain understanding of the concepts and ideas needed to fully comprehend their scene/character for the performance showcase. As age/ability increases, campers participate in character development, exploration of personal strengths/goals, collaborative creation process.

Preschool/Kinder students attend a 1/2 day camp where some of these classes are combined. All other campers attend full day camp.

9th/10th grade campers also attend child development class and leadership training and function as an instructor assistant for some of the day as part of our Leadership Training Certification Program.

All of our staff are highly trained in positive interaction skills and have a passion for children and for the arts.

CAMP FACILITIES: We have a 50-seat theater with stage fully equipped for rock band rehearsals, plus multiple other classrooms available for smaller sectional rehearsals.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: For young musicians going into Grades 4-12, our rock band camps provide an opportunity to play the music they like with their peers. A minimum of one year of lessons is required. Repertoire is selected by the group, which rehearses every day. A typical day includes group lessons in the morning, a lunchtime jam with staff, and band rehearsals in the afternoon. The week culminates with a show on late Friday afternoon. Blue Bear's instructors are among the most experienced in the Bay Area.

CAMP FACILITIES: We have a dance studio, a large rehearsal space, classrooms, a piano lab, and an outdoor lunch area and playground.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our arts camps will provide intense, focused training for campers of all ability levels in dance, drama, and both vocal and instrumental music. Our instructors are industry professionals and industry tradesmen, with real-world experience in their chosen fields.

All performing arts camps will conclude with a performance, highlighting new skills acquired during the two-week session.

An important part of the camp experience will be two field trips chosen specifically to enhance campers' knowledge in their chosen field of the performing arts.

Our activities camp will be a fun and relaxing day camp with plenty of opportunities for play. The program will include arts and crafts, singing, and outdoor activities. We will take several field trips during the two-week session, with an emphasis on swimming and water play.

CAMP FACILITIES: Beautiful and recently renovated Black Box Theater. It has a stage and comfortable back stage. All of our props and backgrounds are designed and created by hand. Elevated seating that can fit up to 90 people. There is a ticket booth and a functioning restroom. Different types of lighting: black light, fluorescent, stage lighting, rope lighting, and a disco ball. A working sound board, music, and up-to-date stereo system. We utilize different media options as well.

A few buildings away is our main office, where rehearsals may sometimes be held. It has 3 spacious rehearsal rooms, each with a baby grand piano.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Brother's Grimm "go Broadway" as Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (and his beanstalk) and The Witch meet and interact on their journeys.

Performance for family and friends at the end of the camp.

We do not skip out on costumes! Every participant will be outfitted in a role and age appropriate costumes for the performance. The actors and actress will also interact with carefully designed and created props.

Students will be learning stage position, projection of their voice, blocking, how to interpret a script, read music, sing in a group, and dancing.

Since the plays we do are musicals, the actors and actresses will learn the basics of singing. It includes, reading music, matching pitch, group and possibly solo singing, tempo, and rhythms. Our choreographer will teach dance positions, dance moves, rhythm, counting, and tempo.

CAMP SESSION DATES & FEES:
Monday through Friday, 9AM to 4PM, beginning July 15 and going through August 9th. The camp location will be in Livermore, and is for children aged 7-17. The performances are on Saturday, August 10th and Sunday, August 11th.

The regular tuition for the 4 week program is $1100. Enrollments before July 1, 2013 will receive a 10% discount, reducing the tuition to $990. A 25% deposit of $247.50 is due at the time of registration. The balance of the tuition is due by July 1st, 2013. Enrollments after July 1st must pay the full tuition at the time of enrollment.
